Teachers can’t be everywhere at all times and neither can an administration but something absolutely has to be done with the outrageous violence children are being subjected to these days. School shouldn’t be an emotional and physical war zone. School should be, has to be a safe place where education and emotional development can thrive.
That young perpetrators are becoming more brazen, to the point of raping fellow students on campus, with occasional teachers also acting as predators the environment has become too much of a crapshoot for parents, educators and especially children.
While the last thing this spot is anything that drives us more towards a police state, maybe that’s what we, as a society need at times, more people watching over us making sure we don’t violate each other. The schools could employ hall monitors. The concern is cost. That’s the problem to worked out.
